“We are committed to looking out for each other”.

Dear Community Member or Business,

The Southside Neighborhood Association is seeking support and funding for a neighborhood playground to be located at the corner of East Third and Walnut Street in Oil City.

We are an established grassroots non-profit community organization. Our mission is to build our neighborhoods into safer, friendlier and more caring places to live. Our purpose is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen our neighborhood spirit and let everyone know we are organized and responding to the needs of our community.

The children of our community are important to all our neighborhoods, and our goal is to establish a safe and accessible place for children who live in the East End of the city to play. We are working cooperatively with Bridge Builders Community Foundations, the Oil City Redevelopment Authority and the City of Oil City on this project. A recent survey of the neighborhood showed support for a playground for children, and many people are committed to making this happen. We have a Steering Committee in place tasked with developing a plan for this project and raising funds. Currently, we have signed letters of support from Sonja L. Hawkins, Mayor, City of Oil City; Ronald Gustafson, Chairman, Oil City Redevelopment Authority; and Scott E. Hutchinson, PA State Representative, 64th District-
Venango and Butler Counties. Our projected groundbreaking is Spring 2010.

We need your financial support to make this initiative a success. By working together, we can make this playground a reality. We are also seeking people willing to help with the project. Please consider how you can become involved
in The East End Playground Project.

                                                     Please make checks payable to:
